Of the six copies of Saint #9 to be certified by the CGC, there have been only three to sell at auction. The mint condition value of Saint #9 is based on the sale of a 9.4 from the Edgar Church pedigree, which sold for the price of $1,035 in October 2002. An unretouched 8.0 from the Davis Crippen pedigree sold for the price of $370 in April 2014. In July 2011 an unretouched 8.0 from the Davis Crippen pedigree sold for the price of $143, which is an increase from its November 2006 value of $122.

The Ace Detective faces off against the Notorious Murder Mob in Saint #9, published in December 1950 by Avon. This issue was smaller than some of the others, as it featured just two stories, both of which star The Saint. In the first, Saint is in Florida, where he investigates a murder related to the Mob. In the second, The Saint is on the case of mystery straight out of Chicago.
