X-Men #6 from Marvel Comics was published in July 1964, and features the exciting first crossover with the X-Men and Sub-Mariner.
In this comic book, Magneto displays his astral form to Namor and entices him to join the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. Namor goes to Magneto's secret island, where initially he is wowed by Magneto's powers and the giant magnet at the centre of the island.
The X-men (who have learned of the island's location thanks to Professor Xavier) arrive at the island, where they battle against the Brotherhood.
During this battle, Namor realises the type of person Magneto really is and decides not to work with him and join the Brotherhood. As a result, Magneto attacks Namor, and a battle ensues. Eventually, Namor overcomes the attack and defeats Magneto and destroys his giant magnet.
Magneto and The Brotherhood flee the scene after the defeat.
