X-Men #10

Marvel // X-Men

Published March 1965

From prehistoric creatures to a Jungle in Antarctica, issue 10 is packed with adventure.

It starts as the X-Men witness an expedition on TV in Antarctica where they witness a 'Jungle man' rescue a missing scientist.

With the belief that this jungle man could be a mutant, the team heads off to the Antarctic to investigate.

While there, they discover a hidden prehistoric jungle, but they are soon attacked by dinosaur riding Swamp Men.

Initially, they capture Jean Grey but also later Angel.

Kay-Zar meets the X-Men, and after initially battling with Beast (over a miscommunication), he agrees to help them.

The X-Men and Kay-Zar team up to launch a rescue mission and save Jean and Angel from being sacrificed to a T-Rex.

In the end, the team-up works, and they defeat the Swamp Men. Kay-Zar remains in the 'savage land while the X-Men return to the surface and the tunnel to the prehistoric realm is covered up.
