What's Avengers #4 worth in 2025?
There are actually 5 known copies graded CGC NM/MT 9.8 on record. The last recorded sale of this grade was May of 2017 for $143,000. CGC NM+ 9.6 is commanding $25,000 by comparison. This book is more readily available than some other Silver Age key books in many different grades but due to its importance it ensures a premium price will be paid in any condition. FN 6.0 copies were bringing $1016 in 2015. Nowadays, you can grab one for as little as $2400. Lower grade copies like a GD 2.0 are going for around $$850-$900 in 2023 while barely registering $100 just ten years earlier. We recommend investing in a certified copy in the mid grades or higher for your best return but you can’t go wrong in any grade with Captain America and the Avengers.
Why is this comic book valuable?
Avengers #4 features the return of one of the Golden Ages greatest heroes, Captain America! This issue of the Avengers stands out in value because of several “firsts”. Captain America becomes a member of the Avengers, the 1st appearance of Captain America on the cover of a Marvel Comic (previous appearances were when the company was known as Timely Publications), 1st Silver Age appearance of Cap, and last but not least the 1st Baron Zemo appearance.
