What's Action Comics #7 worth in 2024?

A CGC VF 8.0 is the highest graded copy on record. The highest sale ever is a Court Pedigree 5.5, which sold for 204,000 in 2020.  A CGC NM+ 9.6 would easily bring something in the range of $1,000,000! To help understand the explosive value of the book we examine the information provided by the CGC Census. A low grade copy (CGC GD 2.0) that in 2002 for $2,500. The very next year that same book sold again for nearly $6,000.  In 2017 a CGC GD +2.5 (just half a grade higher) sold for over $70,000. One thing is for sure, if you are looking for one it will certainly bring top dollar.

Why is this comic book valuable?

Actions Comics #7 is valuable due to the second time Superman appears on an Action Comics cover as well as first use of his name on the cover. Even though this is the seventh issue of the series it has proven more desirable than issues #2 - #6 due to Superman's cover appearance. The CGC Census repoorts only 29 of 47 known copies are unrestored. That means you can certainly factor the rarity of the issue into the overall value as well!
