Dark Mysteries was a limited horror and mystery comic series from the early 50s. It ran for 24 issues before being canceled in 1955 due to the huge amount of comics being published and people losing interest in horror tales.

4. The Ghoul Of Death: A surgeon removes part of a murderer's brain to free him from his evil self. The operation is a success, but the evil spirit takes form in another body and commits new crimes.

5. The Nameless Terror Of Twin Dunes: The peaceful town of Twin Dunes is haunted by a vampire scare. A professor tries to figure out who's behind this, to put an end to the prowling beast.

The magic words revive the Khan and his horde. The doctor's daughter is to be made the bride of the emperor. But she sacrifices herself by destroying the magic scroll.

3. Haunted Houses - 2-page text story

4. What Was It?: When Jane encounters her fiance Jim, she believes he's returned from the war in Korea. But Jim has been killed in action, as his parents assure her. The puzzled Jane wants to know the truth and opens Jim's coffin.

5. Vampire Fangs: A vampire stalks an American city. A crime reporter exposes a businessman from Transylvania as the fiend and kills him. But the murders continue; so there must be another vampire on the loose.

4. The Unwilling Witch: Bob and Jane are haunted by an old witch who was an ancestor of Jane's. Under the witch's bidding Jane turns into a were-cat and tries to kill her fiancé. But Bob gets help from a New Orleans "conjur woman".

5. Bargain With a... Worm: Jim Thomas enters into a pact with a strange entity. Looking like a sack, the being offers Jim help in financial matters. In exchange the being can read Jim's thoughts. They start hassling over money and manners. Underestimating the thing's powers, Jim gets the short end of the stick.
