Horrific was a comic series released in the Golden Age of comics, from 1952 to 1954. They featured five to seven short horror stories, highly liked by its audience.
After 13 issues, Harwell Publications was acquired by Comic Media, and the series was renamed to Terrific, continuing with issue #14, and then slowly abandoned, turning into the Wonder Boy comics.

A professional hangman tampers with a womans trial in Horrific #1, published in September 1953 by Comic Media. George Worth is the states hangman, and has never had the opportunity to hang a woman - until Mona Trent is on death row. Worth tampers with the prison clock so that she cant receive a pardon from the governor and hangs her, with deadly consequences.
