Interesting Facts

 

Titled “The Machinations of Light” it features a cover from Fred Ray that shows Superman fighting a gunboat. It was written by Jerry Seigel, with pencilling by Leo Nowak and inking be Leo Nowa


This issue is packed with kidnappings and rescues. 


The main story revolves around a villain called ‘The Light’ and his kidnapping of Governor Benson. The Light manages to hypnotise Superman into destroying military equipment, however, Lois is able to snap him out of it. Eventually ‘The Light’ reveals himself to be Lex Luthor.

 

What's Superman #13.0 worth in 2021?


There are two copies of this issue at the highest grade of VF/NM 9.0, and they've generated a top market with excellent returns. The top sell price so far was $17,458 in 2019. That's over $10,000 in profit from its 2007 value of $6,573! VG 4.0 provided a similar increase within a lower price range: it steadily moved from its 2002 price of $260 to today's $1,275. Nearly a 400% gain, and a net over $1,000!
